Nestled among the southern vineyards of the Bas-Rhin, lies the picturesque medieval village of Dambach-La-Ville that is the home of the Gisselbrecht family winery. The house strives to combine traditional methods, handed down from generation to generation, with the latest in winemaking expertise. Their 2000 Pinot Gris is a perfect example of a full-bodied, off-dry wine that is supremely richly flavoured and has a wonderful fullness of flavour that seems to last for ever. In no way an 'in your face' wine it manages to be very rich and appealing in a leisurely way. A mighty fine aperitif and a good companion to have along with oriental dishes.
