2003 Domaine de l'Ancienne Cure, Colombier, AOC Monbazillac, Bergerac, France
The Monbazillac appellation is situated within the Bergerac AOC area which means that it is upstream along the river Dordogne from Bordeaux and the wines are therefore, not surprisingly, very Sauternes-like in style and appearance. The appellation area is renowned for its autumn morning mists and Nobel Rot has been at work here producing a botrytized wine of some finesse. This is intensely rich, sweet and pleasant. Luscious.

Price:£ 11.20/75cl bottle... sold in cases of 12 @ £134.40 a case Qty:
1998 Château Reine Carbonnieu, AOC Sauternes, Bordeaux, France
An exquisite example of a modern Sauternes. Made from a blend of Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle hand picked grape by grape dependent on the botrytis and then vinified in new French oak barrels. This is both rich and refreshing. The 1998 exhibits honeyed, citrus aromas backed up by rich well balanced oak in the mouth. This is an ideal accompaniment to foie gras, blue cheese and desserts. One Star, Guide Hachette, 2001

Price:£ 8.00/37.5cl bottle... sold in cases of 24 @ £192.00/case Qty:
2001 Muscat Beaumes de Venise, J Vidal-Fleury, AOC Muscat Beaumes de Venise, Rhône, France
Muscat de Baumes-de-Venise is a vin doux naturel, literally translated as "natural sweet wine", however this is generically applied term and the wine is in fact fortified before the sugar has completely fermented. Muscat à Petits Grains is the only permitted grape variety. The bouquet is more reminiscent of flowers than fruit. It is sweet, rather than cloying, with very little acidity. A fresh and surprisingly light sweet wine that is one of the few that partners ice-cream successfully.

Price:£ 19.60/75cl bottle... sold in cases of 12 @ £235.20/case Qty:
NV Stanton & Killeen Classic Rutherglen Muscat, Campbells, Rutherglen, Victoria, Australia
This luscious dessert wine is produced from Muscat a Petit Grain Rouge and is a blend of wines averaging 12 years in age. Maturation in old oak casks mellows the wine and develops complexity, whilst skillful blending of old and new vintages produces a very unique after dinner drink. Stanton & Killeen Wines, a family owned and operated winery, was established in 1875 and they own one of Australia's oldest premier vineyards. (Trophy & Gold Medal International WINE Challenge 2004. Gold Medal, Decanter Wine Awards 2004)

1998 Tokaji Aszu, 5 Puttonyos, Disznó, Tokaj, Hungary
The Disznó estate ("the rock of the boar") was classified 1st growth in the 18th century and is located at the entrance to the Tokaj region where it enjoys exceptional conditions for ripening grapes. A new winery and underground cellars were built in 1992 to allow the adaption of state-of-the-art technology to age-old local practice. The 1998 Aszú 5 Puttonyos has a delightful amber colour, an elegant bouquet and wonderful orange peel flavours. The balance is simply beautiful.
