2000 Unfiltered LBV Port, Martinez Gassiot & Co, Oporto
Martinez Gassiot was founded in the City of London in 1790 by S. G. Martinez a Spaniard selling Port, Cigars and Sherry. In 1882 he was joined by Englishman J. P. Gassiot and 12 years later they acquired a lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia. This 1996 unfiltered LBV is a firm, full-bodied port from an excellent year. It was bottled 6 years after the harvest, in 2002, making it slightly rounder and softer than a vintage port.
