Tuella is a robust and rustic table wine from the upper Douro valley made with Port grape varieties; Tinta Roriz (which is perhaps better known outside of Portugal as Tempranillo), Touriga Franca (one of the five varieties officially recommended by the port authorities), Tinta Barroca (another useful part of the port blend favoured for its deep colour) and Mourisco (light in colour but high in acidity). The Douro Portuguese are the blend maesters and they have not let us down here … this is a meaty savoury wine.
