NZ is now firmly established as the doyen of Sauvignon producers and when it comes to NZ Sauvignon you want to head to Marlborough to pay homage at the Kiwi spiritual home of the grape. The legend is therefore well established. The secret is a combination of superlative ripening conditions and the judicious use of a little Sémillon. We have selected Brent Rawstron's Rossendale Sauvignon Blanc for its rich fruit freshness and balanced acidity.

The Riesling at Waipara West is grown on the lower terraces and is hand harvested. The fruit is whole bunch pressed and then undergoes a temperature-controlled fermentation and a month on the lees. The result is a gentle wine that has been very well cared for. It is now just beginning to exhibit a light diesel overtone to the delicate aromas of lemons and limes supported by complex flinty tones that characterised its youth. The palate is medium weight with a steely dry finish. One to watch...
